In Portland, nearly all rent help starts with one call: 211. Multnomah County sends renters to 211info to find which agency has rent money now. You can also text your ZIP code to 898211. Agencies like Impact NW and Neighborhood House are named by the city, but 211 knows who is funded. The City of Portland also announced new rent money in June 2026 for city residents with an eviction notice.
Call 211 to ask what is open near you.
Last checked: November 4, 2026. Benefits Explorer is a private directory, not a government agency. We do not take applications, provide rent money or decide eligibility. Each program makes its own decisions.
If you have a notice with a court date, go to court even if you have applied for help, and call the Eviction Defense Project now.

City of Portland Emergency Rent Assistance (2026 funds)
Who it serves: City of Portland residents with an eviction notice and household income at or below 65% of area median income. There is no citizenship requirement.
The city announced $5 million on June 2, 2026, with $4.5 million for rent help, which the county expected to reach about 1,000 households. It said help was available from June 3 by calling 211 or emailing help@211info.org and asking for rent assistance from Bienestar de la Familia, with more groups added over the summer through 211info. The county says demand is higher than the funding, and we could not confirm money is left, so ask 211info what applies now.
