Abiding Love Lutheran Church provides valuable services to Southwest Austin and our Congregation.

Food Pantry program provides food to families and individuals in need. We do service some homeless individuals who have great needs, but most of our families are working hard to meet the basic cost of living demands. We only give each family who comes three days worth of food and can be accessed once a month for 6 months .

The ARC Community Church offers the Master’s Hand Food Pantry every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Our food pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve everyone from low income families, single parents, senior citizens, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, working poor, and anyone else that comes to the pantry that needs food.

Every other Wednesday in each month, the compassionate volunteers arrive at the Olivet Helping Hands Center and begin to pack grocery bags of nutritional food and/or place new or gently-used clothing on the garment racks for those in need. The center not only serves persons living in Austin but outlying areas as well. Like most food pantries and clothes closets, you do not have to live in a certain zip code to receive services from the center.

The center sponsors two (2) annual events: Back to School Clothing and Backpack Giveaway (August) and The Harvest of Hope Coat, Sweater and Blanket Giveaway including worship service at Olivet Baptist Church followed by a pre-Thanksgiving Dinner which is called Community Fellowship Dinner (November). The Princess Project (March-April.) provides prom dresses, shoes and jewelry for high school girls (11th and 12th grades), whose parents or guardian meet proverty guidelines.

Gethsemane Food Pantry & Clothes Closet is a vital ministry began as an Eagle Scout project and has grown through the years and serves thousands of people each year. Our food pantry and clothes closet enables us to reach out to people in desperate need of help, especially the hungry.

The Gethsemane Food Pantry & Clothes Closet are open Tuesdays.

St. Andrews will be a church that celebrates and lives Christ’s universal love in the modern world.

Every second and fourth Saturday the St Andrew's Food Pantry is open to provide food and showers to those in need. The hours are 10:00am - 12:30pm.

Loaves & Fishes serves breakfast up to 35 people each week, depending on the amount of assistance available. Clients are served on a first-come, first served basis; therefore, some arrive as early as 6:00 a.m. Tuesday mornings, 7:30-9:30 am--arrive by 6:30 am to sign up.

If there are more people than the allotted number, those not served are given the opportunity to return the next week and are assured of being seen first. At times, we have had more than 50 people come and have had to turn some away for two successive weeks. Congregational giving makes it possible to purchase discounted Capital Metro bus passes and HEB gift cards (which are used for a small payment on food or anything sold at HEB except tobacco, alcohol and the lottery) and for financial assistance. Financial assistance (up to $25) is given for rent, ID's, birth certificates, prescriptions not available at HEB, out-of-town transportation, glasses, textbooks and work boots.

South Austin Church is committed to the families in our community. One way that we serve our neighbors is through our free food pantry. Families and individuals who are unable to meet the grocery needs of their household are encouraged to stop by on Monday mornings for our food pantry distribution. Food distribution takes place each Monday morning (with the exception of holidays and scheduled closure for inventory), doors open at 9:30 AM, and the distribution is first come, first served.

Haynie Chapel United Methodist Church's Food Pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve everyone from low income families, single parents, senior citizens, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, working poor, and anyone else that comes to the pantry that needs food.

Clothes Closet & Food Pantry offers emergency food and clothing assistance for individuals and families suffering economic hardship. Food and clothing are distributed at no cost and based on the family's size and need. The Clothes Closet also offers household items like plates, cups and cooking ware.

The Food Pantry offers bundles of non-perishable food items that can last up to two weeks. In an effort to help you maximize the use of your food, we also offer recipes for the food provided. If you are homeless and do not have access to cooking appliances, the Food Pantry prepares food bundles with items that do not need to be cooked for consumption.

Since fall 2016, Farmshare Austin operates mobile farm stands in Austin and Del Valle. With a grant from the City of Austin, Farmshare Austin provides organic produce from our farm at reduced prices via the Fresh for Less Mobile Markets. The Mobile Markets also sell produce from other Texas farmers and shelf-stable goods like canned beans, olive oil, pasta and more. Compared to traditional farmer’s markets, the Fresh for Less Mobile Markets provide fresh, organically-grown produce at reduced prices. Families paying with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits can buy twice as much with the Sustainable Food Center Double Dollars Program ($30 limit).

The Vincentian Family Center and Thrift Store is the realization of a collective vision of client-centric service. We selected our new location not only to meet growing need in North Austin, but also to ensure accessibility by public transportation. Our hours and programming have been designed with careful attention to the neighborhoods and individuals we serve.

The VFC provides much-needed furniture, household goods, and clothing to families in need. Thrift operations are just one part of our commitment to serving families in need at our one-stop-shop. Our new home also houses a food pantry, prayer room, computer lab and training classroom, 2-N-1 Salad Bar and Grill offering nutritious meals at a low cost, and offices for partnering nonprofits (including The Ladies of Charity, Drive a Senior North Central Austin, Pollyanna Theatre Company, Chorus Austin and the Gladney Center for Adoption).

Manos de Cristo is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering low-income individuals by promoting dignity and self-reliance.

Our food pantry is open every morning Monday through Friday at 8:00 a.m., providing emergency assistance to individuals and families. We receive donations from individuals, local ministries, and organizations, and we purchase what is needed beyond donations through wholesalers at a discount. Food pantry volunteers fill grocery orders for clients each day.

St. John Community center provides social services for low and moderate-income families in need including basic needs (food pantry), seasonal program services (Christmas Bureau applications) and social services (crisis intervention).

Services include:

-Information and referrals to community resources and case management

Student Emergency Services in the Office of the Dean of Students has launched UT Outpost to support students on our campus.

Hunger and food insecurity on our campus is real. Between 2015-16 and 2016-17, Student Emergency Services saw a 28% increase in the number of students helped with food-related needs. We know food insecurity makes it hard for students to stay in class and succeed, and our goal is to help students understand and identify food insecurity, as well as making nutritious food readily available to students when they need it.

Along with our food pantry, our team is launching a career closet to make sure every Longhorn has access to professional clothes for job and internship interviews. Emergencies and financial hardships can interfere with student success beyond the classroom, and this program will serve as an additional resource for students.

Members of El Buen Samaritano’s community garden provides a low-cost way for families to have fun outdoors, meet neighbors, learn new skills that involve the whole family, improve their nutritional intake, and supplement their food budgets by growing fresh vegetables and fruits.

Our food pantry staff manage additional plots for produce distribution and provide instruction and support to growers.

The Neighborhood Centers provide a variety of social services to low- and moderate-income families in need. Services we provide include:
-Basic Services provided at neighborhood centers include food pantry and bread distribution, clothes closet, child safety seats, notary services, form/application assistance and employment/case management information and referrals.
-Seasonal program services include Christmas Bureau applications, income tax assistance, Coats for Kids vouchers and Thanksgiving baskets.
-Social services such as home visits, crisis intervention, grief counseling and case management.
-Health Services ; Registered nurses provide health screenings and other health services at three neighborhood centers: Rosewood-Zaragosa Neighborhood Center, St. John's Community Center, and South Austin Neighborhood Center.

To receive assistance through the neighborhood centers, you must bring the following:

Austin Restoration Ministries is a ministry called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A ministry dedicated to reaching out to drug addicts, alcoholics and anyone that is lost and dying in sin throughout the City of Austin and its surrounding areas. Comprised of individuals that operate in a spirit of excellence, the Austin Restoration Ministries will go to any lengths to go and fulfill the "Great Commission" that has been given to us by the Lord God Jesus Christ.It is in the best interest of the Austin Restoration Ministries family that we continue to provide a safe and conducive environment for individuals that are looking for a change. Our goal as a family is to see to it that each and every individual that walks through the doors of the Austin Restoration Ministries develop a relationship with the Lord God Jesus Christ as well as to be restored to their families and the community.

Austin Restoration Ministries provides GED classes, computer training, food pantry, one on one spiritual guidance, certified drug and alcohol counseling.

Food pantry program provides meals to homeless individuals. The pantry is stocked every week with a variety of food products including meats, dairy products, fresh produce, non-perishable foods, pasta, juice, breads and much more. Each recipient receives a box of food which includes high-protein, nutritious, healthy food and beverages.

Hope Food Pantry provides groceries to families in need. The types of grocery items provided are canned vegetables, canned fruit, soup, rice, beans, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal, juice, snacks, bread, canned meat, frozen meat, peanut butter, fresh vegetables, and fresh fruits. However, we are not able to guarantee the availability of any item. Other nonfood items that we may have include Pampers, baby food, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items.

-Groceries are distributed every Thursday and Friday and first Saturday of each month
-The pantry is closed the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

-An ID and proof of address is required with every visit.
-Each household is served once a month.
-No proxies and no deliveries.
-Families not served are eligible to return in the same month. We may not be able to serve everyone.

Reveal Resource Center is a non-profit, Capital Area Food Bank partner agency that distributes groceries, clothing, and ministry support. The primary focus is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the Greater Austin community.

The Reveal Resource Center is dedicated to feeding families through both physical and spiritual resources! The Center offers weekly distribution of food and clothing at Twin Lakes Fellowship Church. No identification is required and there are no qualifying requirements.

ASAs Helping Hands Food Bank and Nutrition Services empowers people living with HIV and AIDS with the tools to help manage their health through a nutritious diet that is custom tailored to their unique needs.

Baptist Community Center Mission (BCCM) is a vibrant, diverse, multi-generational community of faith and provides a welcoming place of worship for all. We strive to be a church that connects with people of all walks of life, positively impact our community and reach out to those who are less fortunate and in need. Serving through outreach and simple, random acts of kindness gives us the opportunity to use our passion, talent and gifts to make a difference for others, and we grow in the process.

The BCCM bread, pastry items & vegetable ministry is open year-round and open to clients city-side. This free distribution of breads, sweets and vegetables draws about 150 families each day.

St. George's Provides a low-cost apartment community for older adults and people with disabilities. Services for residents include social and recreational activities, food pantry, community room, community laundry room, transportation to grocery store, shopping trips, volunteer opportunities, events and more. They also provide a full-time professional social services coordinator. Rent is 30% of adjusted income, and you will have to pay for gas and electricity.

Travis Heights Christian Outreach is a Christian outreach committed to those in need in the Austin community and the surrounding areas. We support not only the physical needs, but also the spiritual needs of individuals seeking God's grace every day.

Travis Heights Harvest Blessings Food Pantry provides free food and prayer support to fight hunger for those in need.

All are welcome, but arrive no more than 30 minutes before opening. Upon arrival, you will be asked to sign-in.

-You may visit us up to two times per week (plus Sunday after worship service).
-No ID required or referral necessary.
-First-time patrons will be asked to fill out "Pantry Intake Form".
-You can wait quietly in the sanctuary while our volunteers fulfill your order.

Farmers Market open every other week on Monday.

The Family Support Services Division of Travis County is the largest provider of basic needs assistance in Travis County. Our organization strives to optimize self-sufficiency for families and individuals in safe and healthy communities. We work to achieve those goals by providing services either directly or through private and not-for-profit agencies. Family Support Services has a social worker at each of our seven community centers who provide clinical case management services to any residents of Travis County who want to develop a plan and create change in their lives.

Required Documents:

- Photo ID (drivers' license, military ID, State ID, etc.)
- Social Security Card & Numbers for all household members who have them
- Proof of ALL household income for the past 30 days (check stubs, Social Security award letters for current year, unemployment, child support, workers comp, Workforce Solutions registration printout, etc.)
- For utility assistance bring your current utility bill or termination notice
- For rent or mortgage assistance bring proof of amount owed (letter from landlord, mortgage statement, etc.)
- Proof of Travis County residency

Failure to provide the required documents will delay or deny the processing of your request for assistance.

To apply for services:

- Applications are accepted at all seven locations Monday through Friday. Please include as many of the required documents as possible when you turn in your application.
- Once received, your application will be placed on the waiting list for that site. When your turn in line comes up, a case worker will call you to discuss your application and schedule an appointment.
- Your application is good for 30 days. If you have not heard from us within 30 days and you are still in need of assistance, you may call us to have your application extended for another 30 days or you may come back in to reapply.

Applicants unable to visit centers can call for an application to be mailed, faxed, or emailed or send a family or friend on their behalf with their photo ID, letter of authorization and application. All Travis County residents are eligible to receive social work services; however eligibility criteria does apply for financial assistance and other programs.

Please call or visit one of our centers to talk with a social worker. We determine eligibility for services at our local community centers.

Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry is a faith-based partnership between the Taylor Area Ministerial Alliance and a group of volunteers dedicated to serving the Taylor community.

The Food Pantry is open to all in the community and just requires that you bring a form of ID and a piece of mail for proof of residence.

Please leave a message on our answering machine and we will return your call as soon as possible. All of us at Shepherd's Heart are volunteers and there is no office staff to answer this line, but we do check messages as frequently as possible.

Services are geared toward keeping those already housed in their homes, or assisting those who are very recently re-housed establish themselves in their housing. Any official services provided to homeless neighbors are collaborations with other partners.

Appointments are needed since there is no provision for walk up or 'storefront' assistance at the Cathedral. If you live in Travis County, please call St. Mary Cathedral at 512-476-3750 and leave a voicemail. Voicemail is checked and answered on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

Services provided are breakfast, food assistance from pantry, clothing and household item assistance through SVdP store, fans through Family Eldercare, referrals to healthy/dental care program, Spiritual service and other miscellaneous assistance.

Financial Assistance for ID/birth certificates, utility bills, rent, rental deposits, mortgage, medical bills, prescriptions, eyeglasses, gasoline, work boots, criminal background check and bus passes.

El Buen Samaritano offers emergency food assistance to families who cannot afford nutritious food due to financial limitations through our food pantry. No appointment is necessary. Clients will be scheduled to receive food twice a month for up to six months

We also encourage individuals and families to participate in other services available on our campus such as our community garden and nutrition classes.

Our Food Pantry is located at University Presbyterian Church. Shoppers should enter the courtyard north of the UPC building through the gate just north of the church itself on San Antonio Street. This gate will have the Food Pantry sign directly to its right.

Food pantry hours are Thursday from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. and Saturday from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
