Miracle Kitchen: The Miracle Kitchen is our nightly feeding program. We serve dinner five nights a week, Monday through Friday. Each night, a different volunteer group cooks and serves the meal. Doors open at 5:00pm, when coffee and snacks are served. Dinner is served at 6:00pm. The meals go fast to our hungry crew - so don't be late for dinner! Bread Room Ministry: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, people from the community can come in as early as 9:00am and get a number for the Bread Room. After the donations come in (around 11:00am), the numbers get called in order at Noon. The donations are from Trader Joe's, BJ's, Roche Brothers, Whole Foods and Stop and Shop, along with produce from the food bank. We also sometimes have items that we get from the food bank that we can put out for the Bread Room. Depending on how much comes in, the volunteers let the people know how much they can take. They are allowed to come in every Tuesday and Thursday. Food Pantry - Required: Photo ID, Proof of Framingham Address. Once a month

Faith Evangelical Church - A Servant's Heart Food Pantry
A Servant's Heart Food Pantry offers emergency food to residents of Melrose and the surrounding communities. PLEASE NOTE: At this time, we are no longer able to accept any NEW clients who live outside of Melrose. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hours of Operation: Every Friday, 10:00 - 11:30am, 3rd Friday of the Month, 5:00 - 6:00pm with a Community Dinner following. The pantry is closed on or near certain holidays. Individuals may come to the Food Pantry twice each month. A photo ID is requested on your first visit only. The Pantry is open to residents of Melrose and the surrounding communities. The Servant’s Heart Food Pantry was born out of a desire to serve and assist struggling families in the city of Melrose and the surrounding communities. In 1996 the first food was distributed from a broken down three-shelf bookcase in the basement of the church to just 5 families. Over time word spread and the number of families who frequented the food pantry grew. Ten years later there were nearly 70 families receiving food each month. What began with a few volunteers and a bookcase of food has now grown to countless hours of volunteer assistance and many more shelves of food. Today the pantry supplies food regularly to over 150 families.

•B&B Thanksgiving-Thanksgiving morning we will be in the Boston Commons serving breakfast and giving blankets to the men and women living on the streets.

•Christmas in the Commons-This Christmas we will be doing our annual Christmas in the Boston Commons.
•Boston CarePacks-We provide essential needs such as food, hygiene items, toys, and snacks for 200 new families each month who are homeless and transitioning to hotels and shelters.
•BDC Inside Jail Ministry-Our jail ministry has been and continues to be amazing. What began two years ago has continued to grow inside the jail. We have seen dozens of men healed and restored through this ministry and we are expanding - this year we plan to add groups and extend our reach into the jail. We are also planning to launch church in the jail with a weekend service.

Jewish Family & Children's Service (JF&CS)
Family Table is the largest kosher food pantry in New England. Everyone should have enough nutritious food to feed their family. Family Table provides healthy food on a monthly and emergency basis to individuals and families in need. Our mission is to offer food in a way that meets nutritional and spiritual needs.
We do this by offering:
• Nutritious groceries, including fresh produce
• Jewish holiday and ritual items, including challah and Shabbat candles
• Personal hygiene items such as soap, toothpaste, and shampoo
• Healthy recipes and recipe tastings using pantry foods
• Connections to programs that help families move from crisis to stability
Family Table operates four distributions each month, including one Sunday in Waltham, Marblehead, and Canton and a weekday distribution in Waltham. At our Sunday distributions, volunteers pack and deliver groceries to clients who are unable to drive or lack transportation.
Our clients are individuals and families in need including people with disabilities, seniors living on fixed incomes, Holocaust survivors, survivors of domestic abuse, and people who have experienced job loss or underemployment. We know that contacting Family Table can be one of the most difficult calls to make, but we are grateful to be able to help.

Fair Foods, Inc.
Fair Foods provides large bags of mixed fresh produce for a suggested donation of two dollars. We operate Two Dollars a Bag five days a week, distributing food at sites in churches, schools, and public housing and senior centers across Boston. Check the schedule on our website to see when we are in your area.
Each bag offers about twelve pounds of mixed fresh produce, ranging from potatoes and organic bananas to fresh spinach and mangoes. Our "dignity of a dollar" philosophy makes Two Dollars a Bag unique among hunger relief programs. Rather than supplying only emergency hunger relief or imposing income requirements to provide aid, we aim only to make your hard-earned dollars go further towards providing healthy weekly groceries. We have no eligibility requirements, no registration, and no ID checks. Take as many bags as you need for yourself, friends, or family. Come even if you don't have money; we have never turned anyone away.

Boston Medical Center (BMC)
The Preventive Food Pantry works to address nutrition-related illness and under-nutrition for our low-income patients. It fills the therapeutic gap by linking physicians and nutritionists to patients. Individuals with special nutritional needs are referred to the Pantry by BMC primary care providers who write “prescriptions” for supplemental foods that best promote physical health, prevent future illness and facilitate recovery. The Pantry is often used by patients with cancer, HIV/AIDS, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, obesity, food allergies and other chronic conditions.
Families can visit the Food Pantry twice per month and receive three to four days worth of food for their household each time. A key feature is the provision of perishable goods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables in the winter, and meats all year round – items that are often costly and therefore often lacking in a low-income family’s diet.
The Pantry Manager is a registered Dietetic Technician, qualified to determine what foods correspond to a patient’s dietary needs, as prescribed by a BMC physician. The Assistant Pantry Manager is fluent in four languages and has been essential in helping the Pantry assist BMC’s many refugee and immigrant patients.

The EPH Food Pantry provides emergency food services on a weekly basis to individuals who reside in the City of Somerville, MA. Utilizing a volunteer-to-client "shopping" system, our pantry allows clients to choose their own items from our available selection of fresh and shelf-stable foods. We receive the bulk of our food from local food access organizations including the Greater Boston Food Bank, Food for Free, and Lovin Spoonfuls, but also receive generous donations from local grocery stores, short-term food drives, and individuals within the community. When available, we also receive locally-grown fruits and vegetables from Farmer Dave's CSA of Dracut, MA. In January 2013, we served over 300 Somerville families, totaling over 1,200 people and over 2,400 bags of groceries! The EPH Emergency Food Pantry is currently open every Wednesday evening from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Only Somerville residents with proof of a Somerville address (i.e. license, utility bill, pay stub) are eligible to shop at the pantry. New clients must register on-site with the food pantry coordinator to shop in the pantry and should present their EPH Food Pantry Membership Card at each distribution they attend. All clients are allowed to shop at the food pantry once per month. Clients are served on a first come, first serve basis, and are not allowed to assemble on EPH property before 4:30pm on distribution days. Clients are expected to be respectful of other clients, volunteers, and Elizabeth Peabody House staff and program participants.

Project Just Because - Hopkinton Food Pantry
We will need Proof of Hopkinton Residency – for example a recent Utility Bill or your licence, etc. before you can use the Hopkinton Food Pantry. Each month any family in need of food may sign up by using the Food Pantry form. Each resident will be allowed to fill out one food form per month. At that time we will have a volunteer fill a bag with the items we have in house. We will call you when your items are ready for pick up from our location on South Street. We can only give out what has been donated to us each and every month, so if you mark an item and do not receive it, it is because the item was not available. Please be as specific as possible as a volunteer will fill the bag to the best of their ability. If there are items that you do not like or want, please specifically list them. This food service is for non-perishable items only. We have a resource link on our web site at anytime for other food sources in the state of Massachusetts. The Hopkinton Food Pantry supplies basics only. Food is distributed only when the supply from donations is available. If at any time there is a need to have items dropped off to your door step because of illness, disability, etc., we do have a few volunteers that are able to provide this service. You may submit your food order any day and at any hour on the website and if Project Just Because is unavailable due to vacations or other scheduling conflicts, your order will be filled on the next available business day we are open. Project Just Because does not give any financial assistance for food or other items at any time, we are an items-only based charity.

The Tuesday Meals Program
A program of First Parish in Cambridge, the mission of the Tuesday Meals Program is to offer warm hospitality and an evening meal in a safe, dignified environment to anyone in need of nourishment. In 1987, responding to a growing need for hunger relief programs, a coalition of Cambridge churches committed themselves to offering a meal to those in need every night of the week; First Parish in Cambridge was chosen to provide a meal on Tuesdays. What started as a group of First Parish members making a meal to serve 15 men and women on Tuesday evenings has evolved into a program serving 95 to 140 people each week with a number of professional staff and drawing on volunteers from all over the Greater Boston Area. We gladly welcome you to be a part of this continuing history. The Tuesday Meals Program (TMP) strives to: Approach our service as an extension of the mission of First Parish in Cambridge; Provide healthy, nourishing, delicious meals; Ensure that guests and volunteers are in a safe and welcoming environment; Uphold sanitation and health standards for food preparation and service; Solicit and respond to suggestions for improvement from guests and volunteers; Empower staff to make daily decisions within the scope of their job responsibilities; Recognize program and financial oversight from the TMP Advisory Group.

East End House Food Pantry
The East End House Food Pantry provides individuals and families in need with fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and dry goods, meats, and dairy products. Community members are welcome to come to the pantry two times per month. In order to address barriers to accessing the Food Pantry among elderly and disabled community members, East End House, in conjunction with CASCAP, holds monthly Free Farmer's Markets at Miller's River, Roosevelt Towers, and Harvard Place Housing Complexes in Cambridge. East End House brings fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and dry goods, meats, and dairy products to the residents in these buildings. A central part of our mission is strengthening the community fabric by providing relevant services for those who are struggling financially. As part of this effort we offer healthy and tasty foods that meet the nutritional needs of families and individuals in a respectful manner. A partnership with Pierce's Pantry allows East End House to offer gluten-free foods to those who need them. Increasing access for underserved groups is an important aspect of the program, which provides numerous supplemental services, including benefit screenings. The Food Pantry provides individuals and families in need with fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and dry goods, meats, and dairy products. Donations from Food for Free, the Greater Boston Food Bank, and numerous corporations and individuals make this possible. Community members are welcome to come to the pantry two times per month. We serve individuals and families in need in the Cambridge and greater Boston area with no residency restrictions. On your first visit, you will be required to fill out an intake form. Please bring your I.D. and a form of income verification. For income verification, we accept a paystub, a Medicare or Mass Health card, a DTA/EBT card, a referral, a benefit statement, or any other document that proves your income status. Lack of mobility and ability to carry groceries long distances prevents many elderly and disabled community members from using the Food Pantry. In order to decrease these barriers East End House, in conjunction with CASCAP, holds monthly Free Farmer's Markets at Miller's River, Roosevelt Towers, and Harvard Place Housing Complexes in Cambridge. These events are open to residents living in the housing units. We bring fresh fruits and vegetables, canned and dry goods, meats, and dairy products to the CASCAP-operated buildings. There is also entertainment at most Farmer's Markets. The Free Farmer's Markets are some of the most widely attended events at the housing complexes and provide residents with healthy and nutritious foods, as well as an opportunity to socialize with neighbors. Open Table Inc. - Concord Food Pantry
Open Table offers weekly community dinner programs and food pantries in Concord and Maynard to more than 300 guests. We provide a welcoming community of support and assistance to families and individuals, including many seniors and children – we are open to all who come. Beyond providing food resources, Open Table strives to build a community of support for our guests who face many challenges. Some needs are small – a notebook for a school project, a winter jacket or boots or transportation. Many of our guests face crises in housing, fuel assistance, summer child care and critical health situations. For these issues, our guest support team determines if Open Table can help. If not, we draw on the wider community of support and refer our guests to other community agencies whenever possible.

Drive-thru Food Pantries
Since the start of the coronavirus, drive-thru food pantries have become the safest, most efficient way to provide food to our struggling neighbors.
Who can visit a drive-thru pantry?
Drive-thru pantries are open for anyone who needs help getting food. There are no eligibility criteria. Visitors do not need to provide any identification or income statements.
Only two piece of information is asked
- You Zipcode, and
- Number of people in their family.
You dont need to take appointment. Drive-thru pantries are first-come, first served so plan to arrive early.
How do drive-thru pantries actually work?
There are lot of volunteers help at Drive-thru food pantries. While not all drive-thru pantries operate in the same way, heres how most work:
Staff and volunteers direct visitors to the parking area.
Visitors pull up to the pantry in their car and are usually guided into a clearly marked queue. As people move through the pantry, staff will continue to move the cars forward to get everyone through as quickly and safely as possible.
Checkin.
You are required to fill some information for Pantry's recording keeping.
Food is loaded into the cars.
Pre-packed bags of food, usually full of shelf-stable items like pasta, canned fruit and peanut butter, as well as fresh produce and meats are loaded by volunteers into the trunk of the car.
Pet Food Pantry
One in four pet owners who give up their pets to a shelter say it is because they cannot afford to care for them. Pet Food Pantries are designed to fill the void in the nations current assistance programs that exclude the purchase of food and supplies for family pets.
The Pet Food Pantry provides free pet food, for 3 months or less, to pet owners who cannot afford to feed their pets in Middlesex, Massachusetts
Who are eligible for Pet Food Pantry
Pet Food Pantry helps people who are:
- All ages, races and marital status
- Unemployed or underemployed
- Retired, living on social security or other limited income
- Physically or mentally disabled
- Experiencing homelessness or housing instability
Tips for Visiting a Food Pantry
Show up early.
This is very important. This means you will be first in line and have a chance to get the items that are sought after and in limited quantities such as fresh produce, dairy and frozen food.
You don't usually need to show up hours ahead of time but coming at least an hour before is usually a good idea.
Remember all documentation.
Many food pantries require documentation to prove who you are, and in some cases, where you live.
This is to make sure people are not coming more than they are allowed or using fake names to do so. Call ahead of time to find out what documentation is needed.
It's just your photo ID and a piece of mail that verifies your address.
Use several food banks.
Using more than one food bank (when available) is smart because you may be able to get something at one that you may not get at another.
For instance, one may have a deal with a local gardener that gives them their extras. This may mean this food bank has more produce.
Eligible for other programs?
Ask your Department of Social Services office if you are eligible for other assistance programs to supplement your household’s food supply.
They can easily tell you if you can apply for WIC (Women and Infant Children), USDA Commodities or SNAP(Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits.
Ask about extras.
If you have special needs for infants or special diets, the pantries may be able to assist you.
Many times, they can help with diapers, baby formula, baby food, personal hygiene products, and even special diet items like gluten free or sugar free foods.
Go on different days of the week.
Depending on the food pantry, they may be open only one or two days a week or they may be open all seven days. When you have a choice, going midweek is often best as it is less crowded.
Be polite to workers.
Nearly everyone at a food bank is a volunteer. Be polite to the workers there as they often deal with highly emotional situations.
FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)
1. What is the difference between a food bank and a food pantry?
Independent community food pantries are self-governing and usually distribute food to their clients on a once-a-month basis. A food bank is the storehouse for millions of pounds of food and other products that go out to the community. A food pantry functions as the arms that reach out to that community directly.
2. What kind of food is at a food pantry?
Specifically, food banks often need items like:
- Peanut butter
- Canned soup
- Canned fruit
- Canned vegetables
- Pasta
- Canned beans
- Canned stew
- Canned fish
3. Who can go to food pantry?
At the majority of food pantries, eligibility is based on self-attested need. You do not need to have a referral, and income is not a factor to receive food.
4. What is the difference between a food pantry and a soup kitchen?
A food pantry provides three-day food packages to families that have a place to live, but not enough food. These packages are designed to provide nutritionally balanced meals. Soup kitchens serve individuals in need of a hot meal, the only meal of the day for many of them.
5. How does a food pantry work?
Food Banks acquire large donations of edible but unmarketable food from the food industry and distribute it to organizations that feed hungry people. Then they provide this food to family in a need.
