Food Pantry Assistance Program provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. Beginning June 9th 2012, we took a leap of faith in responding to God’s call to expand our Food Pantry Ministry beyond our congregation by serving those in need in our community. On the second Saturday of each month since, we have opened our Parish Hall doors at 9 am and distributed as many bags of food as our supply allows on a first come, first served basis. Within four months, the pantry went from serving a few families to serving 159 families which represented a total of 586 people! In addition to Saturday distributions, we continue to give Emergency Food Bags to anyone in need during the month.

Grace Food Pantry supplies food to more than 1500 Brevard County residents. Our food is distributed every Monday to anyone who is in need. Many people have lost jobs because of the downturn of the economy and other unfortunate circumstances. As a church body, we want to collect food continually to help our friends and family get through these difficult times. If you are going through a difficult time and cannot buy groceries for your family, we would like to help. In October, 1995 we opened our Distribution Center. Every year, we conduct two major food drives, one in May with the Letter Carriers and one in November with the Boy Scouts. The Central Brevard Sharing Center provides emergency assistance to those in our community who are struggling to obtain life’s most basic needs. Emergency Food Pantry: We provide an emergency supply of food to individuals and families. Drive-thru food pantries are a convenient and efficient way to distribute food to neighbors in need. They are open to anyone — no eligibility requirements or income verification needed.
Who can visit a drive-thru pantry?
Drive-thru pantries are open for anyone who needs help getting food. There are no eligibility criteria. Visitors do not need to provide any identification or income statements.
You will typically only need to provide:
- Your zip code, and
- Number of people in your household.
No appointment is needed. Drive-thru pantries are first-come, first-served — plan to arrive early as lines can fill quickly.
How do drive-thru pantries work?
Volunteers and staff manage the distribution line. Here is how most drive-thru pantries operate:

Visitors pull up in their car and are guided into a clearly marked queue. Staff move cars forward to keep the line moving quickly.

Tips for Visiting a Food Pantry
Show up early.
This is very important. This means you will be first in line and have a chance to get the items that are sought after and in limited quantities such as fresh produce, dairy and frozen food.
You don't usually need to show up hours ahead of time but coming at least an hour before is usually a good idea.
Remember all documentation.
Many food pantries require documentation to prove who you are, and in some cases, where you live.
This is to make sure people are not coming more than they are allowed or using fake names to do so. Call ahead of time to find out what documentation is needed.
It's just your photo ID and a piece of mail that verifies your address.
Use several food banks.
Using more than one food bank (when available) is smart because you may be able to get something at one that you may not get at another.
For instance, one may have a deal with a local gardener that gives them their extras. This may mean this food bank has more produce.

Ask your Department of Social Services office if you are eligible for other assistance programs to supplement your household’s food supply.
