The Siemon Center Food Pantry is dedicated to providing supplemental food on a short-term basis to local residents in need. Our clients are children, adults or senior citizens with limited or no income, who simply have fallen on hard times or recently unemployed and simply need assistance to make ends meet.

For first time clients, the following documents are required:
• A valid picture ID
• Proof of Income, e.g. Check Stubs, SSA, GR, Calworks/Calfresh
• Proof of Address

For returning clients that are 18+, the following documents are required:
• Valid picture ID

For those 17 and under, the following documents are required:
• Immunization Record
• Birth Certificate
• Benefits ID Card

Clients that are homeless or are not in possession of their ID are still welcome.

The Salvation Army of Ontario's food pantry serves everyone from low income families, single parents, senior citizens, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, working poor, and anyone else that comes to the pantry.

Holman United Methodist Church provides groceries and food for people in need. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve everyone that comes to the pantry for food assistance, regardless of their race, color, or religion. The amount of food given depends on household size.

The Food Pantry is a core expression of Immanuel Presbyterian Church’s relationship and support of the larger community. We welcome our neighbors who experience hunger and food insecurity to join us on Saturday mornings, and our doors are always open for emergencies. Clothing is also given as donations are received.

Our Food Pantry has two food programs, and each guest self-selects which one they prefer:

Lunch Bag Program – Our Lunch Bag Program provides ready-to-eat items for those who may be homeless or do not have access to a place to cook.

Grocery Program – The Grocery Program offers more food, but much of it needs to be cooked (such as rice, pasta, or beans). We offer the food items to our guests for them to select what they would like. (In other pantries, pre-bagged groceries are handed out, which can lead to waste when people receive items they don’t eat). The program is a way of recognizing and extending dignity, acknowledging the humanity and recognizing preferences of each person.

When available, we offer gently used clothes or other items (examples: toys, books, clothing, shoes and more).

Food Pantry Program provides bags of groceries to needy families, individuals and homeless persons in the Jefferson Park and other local Communities. Thanksgiving needy families, homeless families and needy individuals are given the ingredients for a complete thanksgiving dinner including a turkey in the package for large families. Food distribution occurs on Wednesday mornings from 8 AM to 9 AM.

The Food Ministry at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church provides food to neighbors, friends and families who are experiencing hunger. The Saint Athanasius Episcopal Church food pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve everyone that comes to the pantry for food assistance. Food distribution takes place on the third Thursday of each month. Please contact us for more information.

The Food Ministry Program distributes food bags to needy people every Thursday morning. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. The Faith Tabernacle Church Food Pantry is one of the ways that we serve West Los Angeles. The food we distribute often enables low-income people to stay in their homes, deterring the problem of homelessness, because it saves them from having to make the agonizing choice between paying for rent or food when they can’t afford both.

Every Sunday beginning at 1:30 PM, we give one free bag of groceries per household in need until our supply runs out. Our distribution station is located at our church entrance on Olympic Blvd.

What you will receive:

- One bag of groceries per household
- Each week the bag will differ and may include some of the following-
- Canned meats, veggies, and/or fruit
- Boxed rices, spaghetti, noodles and sauces
- Peanut butter
- Chili or stew
- Occasionally there may be fresh produces or eggs

Homeless Ministry provides food, clothing, blankets and hygiene care to homeless individuals and families in homeless shelters. Additionally, we provide financial support to other support organizations whose primary purpose is to minister to the homeless of our local communities.

Helping Hands Food Ministry program offers food to the families who are in need throughout the community.

Multiply Program is a a food distribution ministry of Jamul Community Church each Thursday between 10 a.m- 3 p.m. JCC provides food at no cost to many individuals and families in need in East County. This is a growing ministry available to anyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, etc.

During Multiply, we also provide an optional Bible Study (Thursdays, 9am-10 a.m.).

For those who would appreciate ministry through prayer, there is a prayer team on site from 10 a.m.-noon.

Community Care Assistance program provides food through food pantry and emergency clothes to victims of a disaster, persons fleeing an abusive situation and recent prison releases. The Food Pantry is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Tri-City Volunteers Program provides food, clothing, furniture and household items to people in need.

Food Distribution program gives out free food on a weekly basis. Bags of Blessings are given out every Saturday at 9:00 am. Bags are not reserved they are handed out on a first come first serve basis.

The Food Pantry is a parish ministry dedicated to helping those who are falling short and may need some extra food. It feeds both the low-income and the homeless; the former are defined as those who have access to cooking facilities, while the latter do not. Each is provided with the most appropriate types of food.

Emergency Assistance strengthens families and individuals in distress and helps prevent homelessness. Brownson House service center assistance helps families stay together and maintain intact homes for their children.

Services at the Brownson House include:
- financial assistance for rent or utilities bills
- fresh and healthy groceries
- guidance in applying for state-sponsored health care
- diapers
- transportation assistance
- linkages to community resources

These essential services stabilize individuals and families when they most need it, thereby preventing domestic fractures that can have long-term negative effects.

The St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church food pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. Catholic Charities’ St. Mary’s Center is a first point of help for people in need. The center offers supportive services aimed at breaking cycles of poverty and homelessness in communities.

St. Mary’s Center offers snacks for homeless persons and supplemental groceries, limited utility assistance, basic medical exams, and referrals to community services and resources.

Our soup kitchen, known commonly on the street as “The Hippie Kitchen” is located in the central city ghetto of L.A.’s Skid Row. With over 10,000 homeless, poor and marginally employed residents, this area, with it’s numerous street encampments and rescue missions, has been dubiously nominated “the homeless capital of the nation.” It also is the most policed area in the nation, indeed second only to Baghdad’s Green Zone as the most policed area in the world.

Helping Hands is a local non profit organization based in the San Fernando Valley that can help seniors and their loved ones connect to great programs in the community. We offer a free care planning service to seniors of any income, insurance and/ or health condition. We specialize in working with low income seniors to help them stretch their budget and lower their cost of living. Our goal is to help improve their quality of life!

Children and Teens program aims at improving the quality of life for children by alleviating hunger through programs dedicated to children and teens.

A grocery store on wheels! In an effort to promote healthy eating habits and ease of access to quality produce. The program combines the convenience of a corner store with the selection and freshness of a Farmer’s Market. Mobile Fresh targets “food deserts”, geographic areas where supermarkets are few and far between. This is great news to seniors with limited mobility and those with low-incomes as produce and dry goods are sold for prices 20 to 30 percent less than markets.

The San Antonio Food Bank provides food and grocery products to more than 530 partner agencies in 16 counties throughout Southwest Texas. In FY2015, the San Antonio Food Bank provided nearly 62 million pounds of food. The mission of the SAFB is to fight hunger in Southwest Texas through food distribution, programs, education, and advocacy.

The Mobile Pantry runs daily (Monday – Friday, but is available on select weekends as well) throughout our 16 county service area. On the day of the event, the Mobile Pantry comes filled with a variety of produce, frozen and refrigerated product to provide supplemental food assistance to qualified families and individuals. Each Mobile Pantry vehicle can comfortably provide 200 families with up to 50 pounds of food.With continuing food insecurity and demand for food assistance, the Mobile Pantry allows the SAFB another passage to reach families and individuals in hard to reach areas. The Mobile Pantry provides hungry individuals access to a greater array of fresh, nutritious and healthy products.

Food Bank ministry provides groceries and food delivery to the families in need twice per month. Our schedule on food day involves registration, a government requirement that we record and document all families receiving food. A monthly report to the Rio Grande is also required. We are inspected on a regular basis to ensure all food is being stored properly, fridge and freezers must be up to standard and all family records must be in order.

Vance North Necessities of Life Program (NOLP) serves clients with pre-bagged groceries that include fresh dairy, frozen meats, fresh produce, and an assortment of canned and dry goods, as well as hygiene items and cleaning supplies.

NOLP clients also receive bilingual, one-on-one nutritional counseling and nutrition classes.

Documents required for annual enrollment include the following:

4. Nutrition confirmation
5. Proof of HIV status

In addition to the above documents, the NOLP Enrollment packet needs to be completed. Client may get this from the food pantry. Paperwork is necessary for each client and needs to be dated with the current grant cycle. Incomplete packets will not be accepted.

The Food Pantry at St. John’s Cathedral serves the near west side of Los Angeles. Our pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. We serve everyone that comes to the pantry for food assistance, regardless of their race, color, or religion. Our client base is composed mostly of the working poor, whose wages are inadequate to provide for housing, utilities, food and medical care.

We are open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. No documentation is needed in order to receive food.

Food Truck Program provides bags of groceries for children and families who are prone to homelessness. Many of the people we help tell us that the simple gift of a bag of groceries was just enough to get them through the month. Or they saved just enough on their grocery bill that they were able to pay their rent or keep the lights on. In this way, we not only address the issue of hunger, but also help keep fragile families from sliding into homelessness.

Volunteers of America is a non-profit human services organization committed to serving people in need, strengthening families, and building communities.


VS-21 provides food and onsite transitional housing while addressing challenges such as unemployment, addiction, mental illness and homelessness to young veterans. Assistance is also provided to homeless veterans with permanent housing, benefits, employment, medical support, financial literacy, social skills and much more while in a transitional housing environment. The Lincoln Heights/El Sereno FamilySource Center serves, assists, and supports residents in our local neighborhoods and communities. Our center offers a variety of educational, family, children and youth services including counseling, cultural, recreational and after school activities on site or nearby through a referral system.

Special services include financial counseling and tax preparation, ESL classes, food distribution, and disaster preparation training.

To be eligible to receive FamilySource services, an individual or family must reside within LA City boundaries and meet the current low income guidelines. To determine eligibility, the following documents required must be brought to the Center at the time of enrollment:

- Proof of Income: paycheck stub, Income Tax Return, Benefits Statement.
- Proof of Address: Utility Bill, CA ID, CA DL, Residential Mail, Etc.

*Documents must not be older than 3 months from the enrollment date

St. Barnabas Senior Services (SBSS) - Mid-City is a dynamic senior service agency developing new models of care and providing innovative services throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.

In partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, SBSS provides food to low-income older adults. Participants receive two bags of groceries to help provide meals throughout the month. The Food Bank is the first Wednesday of every month.

Granstons Giving Ministries, is a non-profit organization that focuses on homelessness and the disadvantaged. We feed homeless and hungry people in Downtown Los Angeles California - Skid Row Area, as well as provide clothing and assistance in seeking shelter for those in need. We also provide personal hygiene needs, medical care and social service referrals as part of the road to self-sufficiency.

Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles is a multi-service Agency whose goals are to strengthen and preserve individual, family and community life by providing a wide range of needed human services to people in the community at every stage of the life cycle, especially those who are poor and disadvantaged. The agency is guided by ethical and spiritual values of Judaism in its provision of services.

The JFS { SOVA Community Food & Resource Program responds to hunger in our community by providing individuals and families with the resources they need to regain self-sufficiency and independence, including free groceries, case management, counseling, and other supportive services, such as legal counseling and job search assistance at SOVA's two comprehensive service centers in the Los Angeles area.

Free nutritious food nourishes families, helps children perform better in school, and strengthens the elderly. Every family is allowed to come to SOVA once each calendar month for an emergency 5-day supply of food.

The Resource Center may be able to provide referrals about other programs and services including medical and health services, utility bill assistance, housing and shelters, and child care and family services.

Each pantry schedules professionals who provide:

Food Stamp (CalFresh) & Medi-Cal Enrollment – Employees from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) are available in our pantries 1-2 times each week to assist you in getting the government benefits to which you may be qualified.
Legal Counseling – Skilled legal professionals from Bet Tzedek are in our pantry sites providing free assistance with a wide range of legal questions and problems. (Advance appointment required)
Job Counseling – If you need assistance finding employment, writing a resumé, or developing your interviewing skills, experienced counselors from Jewish Vocational Services are at each pantry weekly to assist you.

On your first visit, please arrive by the time the pantry first opens in the morning in order to register as a new participant and receive the complete program orientation.

Through the charitable donations of our community, Global Kindness distributes clothes, food, money for rent, bills, moving costs, day school tuition, transportation, clothing, furniture, toys, health and beauty supplies as well as a multiple of services to those in need.

We distribute these donations to the families and individuals that need them. When it comes to services we connect those in need, with doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc, who donate their time and experience pro-bono, to help those who otherwise would not be able to afford these basic services.

Our Food Distribution provides free food to feed families and individuals in need that will last for a whole week. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve recipients of AFDC (Aid Disadvantage Children), SSI (Social Security Income), GR (General Relief), WIC (Woman, Infant and Children Program), CalWorks (California Work Opportunity & Responsibility to kids), Disability, Food Stamps Program, and Unemployment. We also accept referrals from other non-profit, churches of all religious denominations and the Department of Social Service.

To become a member, these documents required will need to be presented:

- Proof of eligibility (Government letters awarding benefits, payroll stubs, referral letters from churches and other non-profit organizations)
- Member application (this will be given at our location)

There is an annual members fee of $10. All memberships will expire on December 24, regardless of registration date.

LA Housing Partnership’s food program provides food assistance to the needy families. Participants receive monthly groceries including protein, fresh fruits and vegetables, cereal, bread, milk products and other nutritional necessities. In addition to its regular monthly distributions, each year LAHP provides holiday distributions at Thanksgiving and Christmas which usually include a whole chicken and fixings for special dinners! Occasionally LAHP distributes donations of clothing, household items, personal care items and toys.

Food is distributed on the 1st Friday of each month. Signups begin at 1:30 P.M.

Skid Row Outreach program provides food, water, hygiene items or other token gifts to the homeless and desperately poor. We offer to pray with people and invite them to take our free shuttle to church on Sunday.

St. Barnabas Senior Services empower a diverse community of older adults to live well, feel well and age well in the community with dignity and respect.

Home-Delivered Meals program deliver hot meals to homebound older adults in need. The meals are not only nutritious, but also provide older adults with an opportunity to socialize and keep connected.

The East Los Angeles community service center is a multi-purpose facility designed to enhance the community with a range of health, educational, social and recreational activities. Center staff network with other County departments and non-profit agencies to provide comprehensive information and referrals, basic form completion assistance and translation services. The following programs and services offered at the center include basic form completion, food bank, resource fairs, community forums, flu shot clinic and pet vaccination clinic.

Volunteers of America is a non-profit human services organization committed to serving people in need, strengthening families, and building communities. We help all people realize their full potential through relevant programs and services that have an impact that is deep, resulting in a change in the way they see themselves and the world; broad, extending beyond individuals to their families and communities; and long-lasting, outlasting the time spent with us. Our programs receive continual improvements resulting from ongoing evaluations.

Veterans Service Center is a first point of contact for homeless Veterans downtown. This program assess, advocate and make referrals to VOALA programs the Dept of Veterans Affairs or other organizations, and we run support groups every day. The VSC is a day services program for homeless veterans. Our purpose and goals are to help the veterans stabilize and through our services, find housing, work and connect with benefits. Veterans Service Center provide Basic Needs available 24 hours a day including food, AA/NA support, respite and detox beds. We also provide Wrap-Around Services: three meals per day, showers, laundry, case management, classes and services to assist with benefits, job resources, housing, financial planning, computer skills training and lab, legal aid, relapse prevention, anger management, process groups, education and help with HIV/AIDS, TB, and Hepatitis and life skills.

Centro Maravilla Service Center is a multi-purpose facility designed to enhance the community with a range of health, educational, social and recreational activities. Center staff network with other County departments and non-profit agencies to provide comprehensive information and referrals, form completion assistance, and translation services. The programs and services offered at the center include, but not limited to: form completion, food bank, resource fairs, community forums, VITA income tax assistance, unlawful detainer assistance, mediation services and advocacy.

Referralls to the County Department of Mental Health and Prevention and Early Intervention Program are also available.

All Peoples Community Center provides a variety of programs to meet the needs of the residents in the surrounding community.

All Peoples Community Center's Supplemental Food Program (SFP) provides local individuals and families a bag of groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables each month to supplement their existing food supply. Participants in the program also receive information about other community resources for feeding their families and assistance with accessing those resources.

Homeless individuals may receive our services one time only without valid identification.

New Image operates programs and provides numerous supportive services to homeless and low-income individuals and families with children. New Image does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

Our Food Basket Program provides weekly food baskets (including perishables) for homeless and low-income families with children to off-set their living expenses.

World Harvest provides food, basic staples and living essentials to people who are at risk of hunger and the needy. If you find yourself in the situation that you need immediate food assistance, or are threatened by not having sufficient food to supply you or your family's basic needs, WHFB is here to help you.

For working families or individuals whose financial intake isn't sufficient to cope with daily food requirements, you can access a cartful of groceries, an average of 150 pounds of food, with a flat rate donation of $30 after a brief registration process.

However, if you are not able to cover this amount, we will provide you with the same benefits in exchange for your time as a volunteer for one part time day, 4 hours. Your donation helps us cover the costs of food transportation, basic maintenance and management service for WHFB, allowing us to function and make available our food items to you.

Hunger affects old and young alike. While fixed-income seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families are the most visible examples of people who struggle, hunger doesn’t stop there. Hunger affects all groups of people regardless of education level, employment status or ethnicity. We are proud to work with the Southern California Food Bank (USDA) in order to serve people in need.

Bresee’s Family Services team provides intensive wrap-around support for the families of the youth Bresee serves and social and economic stability for the community at large. Bresee’s Family Services team provides services targeted at increasing family income and educational achievement.

The Family Services team screens and enrolls all families who walk through Bresee’s door, utilizing a “No Wrong Door” approach. Families are connected to vital public services, including health, social services, and financial support programs, through the Your Benefits Now App screening process. Eligible families are extensively case managed to achieve financial stability and educational achievement. Case-managed families are assigned to a case manager who serves as a caring advocate, connecting the family with Bresee’s internal services and external community resources while monitoring student attendance, grades and other outcomes.

At Bresee’s one-stop shop, the Family Services team develops short-term financial stability by distributing:

- Food
- Clothes
- Transportation vouchers (Rider Relief Transportation Program)
- Referrals to other local resources needed including immigration services, childcare and early learning and mental health counseling providers

The Family Services team promotes long-term self-sufficiency through the following onsite services:

- Case Management Support.
- Parenting classes and parent support groups.
- Adult education including English as a Second Language (ESL) and Basic Skills Remediation training through Los Angeles City College (LACC).
- Financial literacy training.
- Fitness and nutrition workshops.
- Referrals to other Bresee’s internal services needed including Bresee’s WorkSource Center and GRYD program.

Pantry Services Program provides meal services where impoverished residents get the opportunity to shop weekly for an average of 45 pounds of nutritious groceries based on food preferences and dietary restrictions. Registered guests get to choose from a variety of items, including fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, rice, beans and canned food.

Referral guests must be active in case management and provide proof from a local agency partners, including schools, hospitals, government service agencies, and other nonprofits. Upon their initial visit guests will receive an emergency food bag excluding fresh produce.

All program recipients must first register on Tuesdays between 10 AM - 12 PM, to fill out an application with information used for our internal census. Once registered, guests will receive a pantry card that is valid for one calendar year from Jan 1-Dec 31.

Our Food Bank provides ongoing food assistance for low-income individuals that meet certain eligibility requirements and individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS in surrounding areas of East Los Angeles.

Clients receive nutritious produce and foods on a monthly basis to make sure that they are able to eat healthy. The Food Bank also provides individuals with personal hygiene items and nutritional supplements.

If you need food assistance but do not meet the requirements for our food bank, we can provide a small amount of emergency food one time and then connect you to other food banks near you.

Hope Again works to end homelessness by providing food and hygiene items to those in need on the streets as well as running a bridge housing program for residents. We provide assistance with job and housing searching, weekly counseling with a licensed therapist, resume development and seek to give dignity to those who are trapped in poverty, crime, and substance abuse.

Cory’s Kitchen provides emergency food to families in need. Families can obtain an allotment of food once a month, for a period of six months. We distribute grocery store items which include non-perishable packaged food, canned goods, baked goods, frozen meat, fresh produce, dairy and deli products, and may include toiletries, household cleaning products and baby care items. What we are able to give each week depends on what comes in to us. The size of the family is also taken into account. There is a brief intake process to enter the family into the Cory’s Kitchen database, which helps us determine the size of the family and any other needs they may have.

Cory’s Kitchen clients receive more than food. Counselors assess their needs and refer them to jobs and other services, such as: continued education, clothing services, legal services and counseling.

Food and Clothing Giveaways offers food and clothing to people in our community who are in need. We hold our food and clothing giveaways in partnership with New Salvation Ministries at Union Rescue Mission on Skid Row.

Our food giveaways are held in the parking lot of Union Rescue Mission on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

San Diego Food Bank opens on the 1st Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 PM where anyone over 7 years old can help, we distributes over 20 million pounds of food annually to individuals, families alleviate hunger throughout San Diego county.

From funds raised over the year, The Spero Foundation brings both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to needy families in the area. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve everyone that comes to us for assistance.

This year's Thanksgiving delivery day will be November 20th.

Emergency Shelter Program provides shelter, food and all immediate necessities at no cost with regularly scheduled case management and education classes are required as well.

The Cordova Community Food Locker (CCFL) is the official USDA distribution site in Rancho Cordova. CCFL now provides food assistance to about 5,000 hungry people each month. As stocks permit, CCFL tries to provide each family with a 3-day emergency supply of food.

CRC Holiday Basket Program is the largest yearly distribution of its kind in San Diego County; over 1300 households received food, essentials and gifts for the holidays where volunteers helped to pack and distribute food boxes and clothes and helped clean up after the project, so this project run yearly where families receive food, essentials and gifts as well as clothes.

The Care Center provides food pantry for people in need. The center also offers dairy products and paper products for families. Our food pantry is open year round on Thursdays. Registration is from 8:30A.M. 9:00 A.M.

In addition to packaged foods, dairy products, fresh produce and paper products are also made available. Families are to provide a photo ID, proof of income and proof of residence in order to participate. This application process is one time per year and families may come every week to receive.

VH maintains a list of local organizations who accept and use fruit (or vegetables) directly from homeowners and we encourage homeowners who are physically capable of harvesting their own fruit to do so.

Mercy Ministries International provides food, clothing, shelter, a safe place to sleep, counseling, vocational training and hope, in order to enable people to re-enter society as individuals with dignity. We also tutor elementary age children two days a week after school.

Through our work, we have been stewards of Austin’s resources, keeping people out of emergency rooms, providing housing, and increasing access to emergency resources.

The Helping Hands Food Bank grocery program provides nutritionally sound food choices to our clients. Food Bank staff, along with our registered dietitian, offers products such as seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs, whole grains and cereals, foods high in protein, dairy products, nuts, and dried fruits. The Helping Hands Food Bank’s model allows for client choice–each individual chooses the products they would like. Everything a client receives is an item they have selected.

Beyond food, this program offers personal and household hygiene items. Providing these costly products helps to offset the limited income of clients. The grocery program serves 450 individuals annually.

The Food Bank is a supplemental program–it is meant to complement other food sources. It is open every other week.

The Assistance Center provides individuals and families in need with one week's worth of food every 30 days through its partnership with the Plano Food Pantry. Call our help line at 972-422-1850 to get signed up. Pantry pick up is available M-F from 4pm-5pm.

The Groceries to Go program provides anyone in need of assistance a monthly offering of government commodities supplemented by the REFB’s fresh produce, bread, and donated shelf-stable groceries. There are 29 Groceries to Go distribution sites in 14 towns throughout Sonoma County.

God's Pantry is a volunteer-run food pantry helping the Inland Empire’s most underserved communities. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. Thousand Oaks Rotary Foundation gives services such as food, students scholarships and free clinics to youth, seniors, disabled and those in need in our communities.

Harvest Pantry provides fresh fruits and vegetables to pregnant women and families with children 0-6 years of age from a mobile pantry, which travels to high-need sites throughout our community. Every week, Harvest Pantry helps reduce the incidence of hunger and childhood anemia by pairing produce rich in iron and vitamin C and healthy staple foods with nutrition education.

In 1982, residents at the Mercy Retirement & Care Center saw seniors in their neighborhood going hungry and launched the Brown Bag Program to distribute bags of groceries to hungry seniors in Oakland, CA. Today, 500+ volunteers make sure other seniors can remain self-sufficient and independent in their own homes.

The Mercy Brown Bag Program distributes groceries to seniors throughout Alameda County twice a month, free of charge. Depending on availability, each bag is brimming with nutritious items, such as fresh milk, tomatoes, green peppers, potatoes, carrots, oatmeal, plums, canned goods, low-sodium spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, tuna, eggs and more. Throughout the year, generous donors help us add frozen chicken or ham, stuffing, cranberry sauce and other treats.

El Rio Food Pantry distributes food to needy families. We start at 8 am every Saturday and are finished when we are done serving our clients, usually about 10:30 am. You can come once a month, or as often as you like; we’d love to have you.

We feed the hungry and the homeless. Each Tuesday the Hollywood Community Food Pantry is open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to help the poor and hungry in the Hollywood area. Because of the importance of this ministry, our Pantry Coordinator has studied and become a certified food handler. We do not distribute government surplus food. Every item of packaged, fresh or frozen food is donated by members and neighbors in the community who know that gratitude for life spills over into generosity to others.

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is a nonprofit charitable organization that has been serving the disadvantaged of our community since 1973. We are at the heart of a charitable food distribution network that includes over 1,000 charitable agency sites throughout Los Angeles County. A voluntary board of directors provides guidance and oversight for Food Bank activities.
