Foothills Food Bank provides an emergency supply of food, referral information and financial assistance to individuals and families in the foothills area that are in a crisis situation.
Food is our primary resource for our registered clients who live in our designated area. Clients can receive the following types of groceries:
•30 Day or Monthly Food-Once per month, 30 lbs. of food per person in household for 3 days. Included is a variety of meats, soups, cereals, pasta and sauce, baked goods, detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, water, fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, pet food when needed, and personal items when available.
•7 Day Food-Once a week our clients can visit and obtain fruits and vegetables, bread and baked goods, any snack and soup items available, baby food and wipes, and any surplus we have. This will help stretch the week for each household.
•Care Club-Is an additional resource put in place to assist in-need households with purchasing groceries. The Foothills Food Bank provides groceries at a discounted rate to those participating in the program. Care Club takes place on the first Wednesday and the third Thursday of each month.
The Foothills Food Bank now provides a limited supply of gluten-free food for those who are gluten-intolerant in our community. We have partnered with Caring Corp to supply food to our home-bound clients. The Food Bank provides the food and packaging, being sensitive to certain dietary needs. Caring Corp delivers the packages.
We provide limited amounts of pet food for dogs and cats. The goal is to keep pets with their families, as pets are often given up in times of financial strain. Clients with pets may request pet food on their Monthly Food request.
Areas we serve are North along I-17 to Black Canyon City, West to I-17, South to Pinnacle Peak and East to Rio Verde.

The food bank opened in May 2012 and served 545,000 Tons of food to 17,000 families feeding more than 61,000 men, women, and children. We are Central Arizona Food Bank, started in 1958, a community based, nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to dispensing emergency food. We are the emergency food source for the entire Verde Valley, distributing approximately 90,000 pounds of food per month. We served 2,262 unique families one or more times during 2002. The largest amount of our food comes from Phoenix area food banks, as well as local merchants. FEMA funds are used exclusively for food purchases, comprising about 20% of the total food we distribute. Hunger is the only qualification.

The Prescott Community Cupboard Food Bank is an independent, community-sponsored organization of eight member churches and several supporting churches. The Prescott Community Cupboard has been an emergency food source for the Prescott, AZ, area since 1976. We provide our services without regard to the recipient's race, color, creed, or sex. Prescott Community Cupboard Food Bank was incorporated in 1978 and was designated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1981. We are an all-volunteer organization, with no paid employees. All monetary support is used to purchase food or to pay for operating expenses. Our clients are processed through Catholic Charities Community Services and receive 12 nutritionally-balanced meals for each family member each time they are approved for food. We are open every day of the year that Catholic Charities operates, that is, essentially 5 days a week year round. In 2013, we provided 238,644 meals to 23,637 to needy clients in our area.
