The ICash search form we opened on November 4, 2026 asks for a last or business name, not a Social Security number. You can add a first name, city, ZIP code or property ID. You do need the number later: the Treasurer's how-to page lists it among what each claim requires.

The Treasurer's office says it helps you search and claim at no cost. Questions? Call 800-961-8303.
Protect your Social Security number. Use the official site, and do not give your Social Security number to a third-party page or to anyone who calls, texts or emails you about unclaimed money.
Last checked: November 4, 2026. Benefits Explorer is a private directory, not a government agency. This page does not search for money. We do not take claims or decide who gets paid, and we never ask for your Social Security number.

Finder Fees
The Treasurer's finder FAQ says a finder's agreement cannot allow pay greater than 10% of the amount collected, and anyone acting as a finder must hold a license from the Treasurer. Claim funds go to you unless the contract clearly says the Treasurer may pay the finder directly.
